Een familie getekend door hockey
Zijn grootmoeder Jacqueline Ronsmans was Belgisch international, evenals zijn moeder Carine Boon-Coudron en zijn ooms Eric en Marc Coudron. Zijn zus Jill Boon is ook een hockeyster van topniveau. Tom Boon zelf is steeds succesvoller op wereldniveau en is klaar om sponsors mee te nemen naar de top. Tom Boon begon zijn carrière bij Royal White Star HC en Royal Ukkel Sport THC en zette die voort bij Racing Brussels, waarmee hij vijf keer het Belgisch kampioenschap vloerhockey won (van 2009 tot 2013). In mei 2013 stapte hij over naar de Nederlandse club HC Bloemendaal. Hij keerde na twee jaar Nederland in 2015 terug bij Racing Brussel en won vier keer het Belgisch kampioenschap floorhockey. In 2019 verlaat hij Racing en sluit hij zich aan bij Royal Leopold Club
